Java · LWJGL 3 · OpenGL
A game engine written from scratch, in public.
No engine, no editor, no framework doing the hard part. Just GLFW, buffers, shaders, and Java — figured out one problem at a time and recorded as I go.
Every step becomes a video first. Once it's out, I write the same thing up here, with the code you can actually copy and the parts I got wrong the first time.

-
02 A window, a context, a loop GLFW window hints, the OpenGL core profile, and a fixed-timestep game loop.
-
03 The first triangle VAOs, VBOs, and the smallest pair of shaders that will draw anything at all.

04 Matrices, a camera, and JOML Model, view, projection — and where the transform actually goes wrong.
Writeups
all writeups →What this is
Raster Pine is one person learning graphics programming the slow way, and leaving the notes behind. If you've read a modern OpenGL tutorial in C++ and wanted the Java version — or you've used an engine for years and never known what it was doing underneath — this is aimed at you.
Videos go up on YouTube. Written versions land in writeups, usually a few days later.
